Competitive Farming: New Multiplayer Modes For Farming Simulator 22 Released
As the professional Farming Simulator League (FSL) prepares for Season Five, Farming Simulator 22 upgrades its multiplayer component with new and free competitive modes for everyone: Both the Bale Stacking Mode and Arena Mode are now available on PC and consoles. Publisher and developer GIANTS Software released the new multiplayer modes as part of patch 1.10 as well as this appetizing launch trailer.
Stacking Bales for the Highscore
What started out as a joyful highlight at international gaming events, is now playable at home with up to six players competing: stacking square bales of straw on a trailer while a timer applies the same pressure as a high-performance bale press that plays a major role in the Arena Mode. Both are now accessible through the esports entry in the main menu of Farming Simulator 22.
Team-Based Arena Mode Requires Strategy
Known from the FSL, the Arena Mode opens up to everyone, without the requirement of registering for the international esports league. Two teams, consisting of up to three players each, compete for the highscore by harvesting wheat, pressing bales and delivering them to their barn. Additional layers of tactical gameplay are ensured through a pick & ban phase, randomized power-ups and multiple strategic approaches possible. There’s also a training mode to make it easy for everyone to check it out – even on their own.
FSL: Season 5 Starting Soon
With the competitive multiplayer modes officially available, the esports league transitions onto Farming Simulator 22. Season 5 resumes live on stage at FarmCon 23, taking place on July 1st & 2nd in Lauingen, Germany.
With HELM AG, a new main sponsor powers the FSL, and participating teams look forward to a prize pool worth 200,000 Euros. Anyone interested in joining the league after testing their skills in Farming Simulator 22, can register a team at fsl.giants-software.com.
Farming Simulator 22 is available for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One. A Year 2 Season Pass is available, which includes four packs and an expansion – fans save up to 30% compared to getting the content separately. Visit the official Farming Simulator website and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.
With the warm-weather months upon us, real and virtual farmers are usually knee-deep in hay and forage production. Fitting this sunny time of the year, when the grass is the greenest, publisher and developer GIANTS Software announces the Hay & Forage Pack, coming very soon to Farming Simulator 22. It releases on June 13th for PC and consoles.
New Brands & Specialized Machines
Time for a bigger garage: 17 brand-new specialized vehicles and tools are included in the Hay & Forage Pack. Furthermore, GIANTS Software welcomes three new brands to the world of Farming Simulator: German mowing specialist Brielmaier and Austrian manufacturers REFORM and Reiter join the game with authentically digitized machinery.
Overall, seven brands are represented in the pack, as KRONE, PÖTTINGER, Rigitrac, and Sepp Knüsel also extend the fleet of machinery. Each machine, real and virtual, is designed to make farming life easier and more fun when operating on vast grasslands or difficult green areas embedded in hilly landscapes.
Modern Machines with Fun Functionality
With the Hay & Forage Pack, fans enjoy a range of agricultural machines: From specialized tractors like the REFORM MOUNTY 110V or Rigitrac SKH 60 with its slope-compensating cabin, to loading wagons like the modular REFORM PrimAlpin or the PÖTTINGER JUMBO 8450 DB. Between mowing and unloading at selling-points, the new pack covers all important steps of hay and forage production.
Mowers like the KRONE Easy Cut F 320 Highland come with side shift functionality, while windrowers shine with ideal ground adjustment on difficult terrain - thanks to the unique design of the Reiter RESPIRO mergers.
Machines included in the Hay & Forage Pack
Farming Simulator 22 is available for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One; the Hay & Forage Pack is ready for pre-orders and will be released June 13th. A Year 2 Season Pass is available, which includes the Hay & Forage Pack, three more packs and an expansion – fans save up to 30% compared to getting the content separately. A new agricultural era dawns upon Nintendo Switch™ and mobile devices as Farming Simulator 23 is now available. With the successor to the globally acclaimed Farming Simulator 20, publisher and developer GIANTS Software proudly offers virtual farmers new crops, machines, and maps alongside new gameplay features. Chickens, too, as seen in the exhilarating launch trailer.
Complexity Upgrade for Fleet & Features
Agriculture, animal husbandry, and forestry: More than 100 authentically digitized machines from world-renowned manufacturers such as Case IH, CLAAS, DEUTZ-FAHR, Fendt, John Deere, KRONE, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, Valtra & many others let players tackle a variety of relaxing and rewarding activities. The family-friendly experience is located on two new maps, Amberstone and Neubrunn, which change their visuals based on seasons and invite for a stroll with plenty of collectibles.
While grapes, olives, and sorghum are added to the selection of overall 14 crops, new gameplay mechanics include plowing and weeding to extend the options to care for fields, as well as production chains. The latter brings a new level of complexity with the ability to produce valuable goods. One of many examples: players can make flour from harvested wheat, which can be used to bake bread or other delicious pastries at the bakery.
Launch Trailer: Here Comes the Chicken!
Farming Simulator 23 adds chickens to cows, horses, pigs, and sheep. Not only because of their precious eggs that tie into the new production chains, the Launch Trailer to accompany the release of the game, makes a chicken the protagonist. The trailer shows the rich diversity of limitless, agricultural fun - from the perspective of escaped poultry.
“We’re proud to strengthen the series’ position as a figurehead for this family-friendly genre with this new benchmark for mobile farming”, comments Boris Stefan, Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software. “Farming Simulator 23 proves that simulation games are not limited to a selection of platforms, but can be played anywhere and anytime.”

Competitive farming gets a major upgrade with the fifth season of the official Farming Simulator League (FSL): After establishing the official esports league in 2019 for the previous game in the series, the FSL will now continue with its implementation in Farming Simulator 22 as publisher and developer GIANTS Software announces.
New Milestone: FSL & Competitive Farming on Consoles
As the new “esports” section in the main menu of Farming Simulator 22 will be introduced with a free game update coming in June, it will be easier for every interested fan to join the league. Now, even on consoles, as the FSL client was previously only available to PC players.
“We’re happy to announce the integration of console players to our esports league,” comments Christian Ammann, CEO of GIANTS Software. “This marks another milestone in the history of our successful endeavors to make virtual farming not only competitive and fun, but professional and inspiring.”
While the fifth season of the FSL starts with FarmCon on July 1st & 2nd, all Farming Simulator players can battle with their friends and other fans in the Arena mode (Introduction Video) when the update becomes available. To demonstrate their skills, they can then join the FSL to challenge professional teams.
New Main Sponsor & Prize Pool Worth 200,000 Euros
With HELM AG, a new main sponsor accompanies the league in its fifth season. The family-run and long-established agricultural company from Hamburg, Germany, is active in more than 30 countries and was introduced to the Farming Simulator universe in 2022 with in-game fertilizer and crop protection products.
Overall, the prize pool in season 5 is worth 200,000 Euros – inciting existing and new teams to compete in competitive agriculture in the new Arena mode. The season consists of offline and online tournaments, both serving as qualifiers for the World Championship at the end of the season.
Open Beta Available on PC
By choosing the beta branch of the game manually, PC players can join an open beta and give the new competitive farming a try before its official launch in June. This pre-release version includes two vying game modes – Bale Stacking and Arena – for up to six players each.
The Arena mode is an improved version of the former FSL client, where two teams of up to three players compete to harvest wheat, press bales and deliver them to their own barn as quickly as possible.
Farming Simulator 22 is available for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One. Visit the official Farming Simulator website, the FSL website and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.
Farming fun everywhere: GIANTS Software premieres the first gameplay trailer for Farming Simulator 23. The new gameplay footage shows many different features and improvements of the game, which will be released on May 23rd on Nintendo Switch™ and mobile devices. Farming Simulator 23 sets the new benchmark for farming mobile games in the genre-leading, globally successful Farming Simulator brand, invented by publisher and developer GIANTS Software 15 years ago.
Seeding an Agricultural Empire
More than three years after the predecessor Farming Simulator 20, GIANTS Software fiercely expands the scope, gameplay possibilities, and feature list of its new game in the mobile category.
At its core, Farming Simulator 23 creates massive opportunities for an agricultural empire with farming, animal husbandry, and forestry. Players have a selection of more than 100 authentically digitised vehicles and tools from renowned manufacturers to seed, grow and harvest 14 different crops. They learn new field mechanics and produce valuable goods: Players expand their businesses and process their harvest into flour and even sell bread at the end to optimise their chosen production chain.
Two Maps to Grow the Experience
Animal husbandry is another huge playground for Farming Simulator 23. Players tend to cows, horses, pigs, sheep, and the newly added chickens, as introduced in the cutting-edge cinematic trailer. Two varied maps inspired by environments in the USA and Europe invite exploration and different farming approaches, while the game remains entertaining and relaxed – the players always choose what kind of farmer they want to be!
Farming Simulator 23 will be released on May 23, 2023. Pre-orders for Farming Simulator 23: Nintendo Switch Edition are available at selected retail stores and the Nintendo eShop. The mobile versions for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices are featured in the App Store and on Google Play, respectively. Visit the official Farming Simulator website and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.
The sixth content update is now available for Farming Simulator 22: Featuring six new machines by renowned manufacturers Fendt and Massey Ferguson, publisher and developer GIANTS Software extends the fleet of Farming Simulator 22 free of charge. Patch 1.9.1, including the free content update, is now available to download on PC and consoles. To accompany the new arrivals, an update #6 trailer shows off the machines.
New Tractors & Baling Equipment
After the recent release of the Göweil Pack, introducing a variety of machines and features in regards to pressing and baling more resources than ever, now the sixth content update adds some variety in the baling section for everyone. Included are multiple bale presses from Fendt and Massey Ferguson. With the Fendt Rotana 160 V Combi and Fendt Squadra 1290 N UD, two modern and innovative round and square bale presses are added to the virtual dealership.
Massey Ferguson does not only bring new baling equipment, but two powerful and reliable tractors to operate them with, too: The Massey Ferguson MF 6S and MF 7S Series come in handy to operate the MF RB 4160V Protec round bale press and the MF 2370 Ultra HD, one of the most powerful presses to produce square bales.

Rest assured, we will continue to make Farming Simulator even greater in the future, together with you and our partners.”

As the company now discloses, 2.5 billion mods have been downloaded over the course of the series and multiple platforms.
