Cultivating millions of virtual farmers
Compared to its already high-performing predecessor in 2021, Farming Simulator 25 saw a significant increase in its first week of release: With two million copies sold worldwide, it surpassed the previous record of 1.5 million copies of Farming Simulator 22 in the same period by more than 30%. One of the first indicators was there for all to see:
On launch day, Farming Simulator 25 outperformed other new releases on Steam's "Top Sellers" chart, with more than 125,000 virtual farmers playing simultaneously, tilling fields solo or cooperatively in multiplayer. That number jumped to 135,000 on the first weekend. Not included are players who were not playing at the same time during the day and on other platforms.
First harvest: Best Farming Simulator launch to date
“When our ambitious self-publishing journey started with Farming Simulator 22, we were already overjoyed by the resonance of our unique, engaged, and passionate community,” Boris Stefan, Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software, comments.
"Farming Simulator 25 marks our most successful launch yet and proves that our bond with the community has grown even stronger. Their enthusiasm and support is not only at the heart of our success, but a driving force behind our continued commitment to delivering an unparalleled and satisfying farming experience. The launch was just the start for FS25.” Including the other main games of the series, GIANTS Software also reports more than 40 million copies of Farming Simulator sold worldwide.

Farming Simulator 25 Now Available – Launch-Trailer Invites Everyone to the Farm
“When we think of our farms, we think of lives well spent”, a seasoned farmer tells viewers in the Launch Trailer of Farming Simulator 25. Now available on PC and consoles, publisher and developer GIANTS Software invites returning and aspiring virtual agriculturists to ignite their passion for the wholesome and rewarding life in the countryside.
“This Farm is Your Farm”
“For experienced farmers, the game marks the next step in playfully living their passion”, says Christian Ammann, CEO of GIANTS Software. “For everyone else, it’s a relaxing, immersive, and community-oriented opportunity to grow a new hobby, cultivate exciting knowledge, and ultimately harvest the rewarding feeling of freedom and accomplishment.”
Easy First Steps on Fields
With more variety, opportunities, and challenges, Farming Simulator 25 allows players to experiment, learn and grow. Increased accessibility through improved user interfaces, information, and tutoring non-player characters make the family-friendly series even more welcoming for beginners. The new GPS-based steering assistant as well as reworked and improved AI-workers allow additional help and automation on busy fields.
Farming Means Business
Whether focusing on arable farming, animal husbandry, or forestry, the dream of farming can be achieved with a small farm and a few lovely farm shops to sell goods, or by growing it into an empire: With production chains, factories, construction projects, and even community monuments like temple grounds or a grain elevator museum, providing long-term goals and endless activities for the farmer's ambitions.
With three environments in North America, Europe, and East Asia, 25 field crops, plus many greenhouse crops and trees, and several types of animals, each farmer can choose their starting point – single-handedly or in co-op multiplayer. Machine enthusiasts enjoy over 400 authentic machines from over 150 international top brands like Case IH, CLAAS, Fendt, John Deere, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, and Valtra. Other new features include ground deformation, weather events, and general improvements of graphics and physics.

400+ Agricultural Machines in Total
Packed with horsepower and authenticity, Farming Simulator 25 features more than 400 machines & items from over 150 top international brands. The roaring Garage Trailer highlights a high-powered selection like the John Deere S700 Series combine harvester with up to 625 hp, or the Case IH Steiger 715 Quadtrac with the power of 778 horses under the bright red hood.
With a focus on details, the close-ups in the trailer emphasize the realistic digitization of machines. Starting November 12th, agriculturists choose from their favorite brands like Case IH, CLAAS, Fendt, John Deere, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, Valtra, and many more.
Hand Tools & Consumables
Branded items are not limited to the garage, but can also be found in new tool sheds: Hand tools, such as chainsaws of various brands, become standalone items that can be stored and shared with other players in co-op multiplayer. Farmers will also need to stock up on bale wrapping supplies, as they will run out. Stretch film or net wraps are also available from brands such as Rani Plast, John Deere, or Fendt, even in different colors.
New Products & Production Chains
In addition to operating tractors, combines, and various tools on the fields, virtual farmers can decide to make more of their harvested crops. New production chains and products become available, adding more variety to the logistics aspect of Farming Simulator 25.
A new cement factory opens its doors as large construction projects require cement. On a smaller scale, farmer’s markets require a variety of produce – a lot of which is grown in greenhouses, like spring onions, garlic, or chili. Only if vendors are supplied, a lot of the shops in Hutan Pantai will open to sell all the goods that players deliver.
Farming Simulator 25 will be released on November 12th for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders are available now on selected channels. Visit the official Farming Simulator website and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.
More Variety in North America, Europe & East Asia
Returning agriculturists and new farmers alike will soon enjoy Farming Simulator 25 with many new and improved features. On fields, in barns, and in garages, farmers enjoy an increased variety: Cultivating 25 crops (plus greenhouse crops and trees), including two types of rice, spinach, peas, and beans with over 400 authentic machines by 150 renowned international brands, there is much to do on fertile soil - whether in North America, Europe or East Asia.
New Constructions for Farm Houses - and Monuments!
New production chains allow the production various profitable goods like mozzarella or goat cheese. Farmers who are particularly involved in their town's community will find a wealth of new building opportunities. Farmhouses and barns are just a small-scale start.
A local builder of historic horse-drawn carriages and a playground builder need help with their crafts in the form of supplies of wood. On a larger scale, farmers can help the local community build monuments: Asian temple grounds, a historic grain elevator in need of renovation, and a colossal playground shape an entire landscape when completed with long-term commitment.
Weather Events & NPCs add Challenges & Assistance
While there are many new activities and challenges on the (now deformable!) ground, other challenges come from above: twisters and hail prompt farmers to prepare as they affect bales that are not put safely in storage as well as crops in the path of nature when it throws a curveball at the farmland.
A small ensemble of voiced NPCs offers assistance in their respective fields of expertise. Grandpa Walter and his trusty helper act as mentors, while neighbor David is just a newbie like many new players and offers a perspective of living in the city compared to the country. The animal farmer talks about her experiences with animals and the lumberjack about wood carving projects of not-so-practical objects. Adding some flair and personality, they provide tutorial help in addition to smalltalk dialogues and contract missions.
Farming Simulator 25 will be released on November 12th for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders are available now on selected channels. Visit the official Farming Simulator website and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.

Farming Simulator 25 @ Tokyo Game Show: Asian Map Revealed
Increasingly popular in Asian markets, Farming Simulator 25 will be playable at Japan's renowned video game show. Publisher and developer GIANTS Software is proud to present a playable version of the upcoming game at the Tokyo Game Show at Makuhari Messe, Japan. In collaboration with Japanese multinational video game company SEGA, the makers are celebrating the occasion by unveiling the first Asian map in the series.
Welcoming virtual farmers to Hutan Pantai
In addition to North American and European maps, Hutan Pantai offers virtual farmers a completely new farming environment. With two types of rice, specialized equipment for planting and harvesting, and water buffalo roaming the corrals, the newly unveiled map is the ideal playground to showcase the new farming technology added to the game.
Traditional environmental influences meet modern technology in Hutan Pantai: Farmers explore a bustling harbor overlooking the sea; enjoy a mountainous backdrop with snow-capped peaks in the distance; drive on winding roads that lead from a city of tall buildings to a small village or to a remote temple where collectibles are treasured.
Asian farming, all over the world
While the TGS Trailer already leaves an atmospheric Impression, the new map is now playable for the first time. From September 26th to 29th, Farming Simulator 25 will be presented with gaming stations to give attendees a preview of the new game and Hutan Pantai.
"We are incredibly proud to see the Farming Simulator brand grow in the Asian market," said Boris Stefan, Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software. "Having SEGA on board as a reliable, forward-thinking partner and well-established institution in this important market, has us excited. Just as excited as our fans around the world who are waiting to immerse themselves in Asian agriculture with Farming Simulator 25."
Farming Simulator 25 will be released on November 12th for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S. It features more than 400 authentic machines from real brands and 25 crops. Pre-orders are available now on selected channels. Visit the official Farming Simulator website and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.
After rice and spinach, GIANTS Software announces two more crops for Farming Simulator 25: peas and green beans. Starting November 12, virtual farmers can look forward to growing a variety of 25 crops on their fields in total. Various tree species and vegetables in greenhouses add even more agricultural variety, and the number of crops corresponding to the game's title is a coincidence, the publisher and developer notes.
Cultivating peas & beans
Early in a farmer’s year, peas are planted in March - a month before green beans. They take four months to ripen, and farmers use specialized harvesting equipment to harvest the crop after applying the usual steps to improve yields. Huge machines like the OXBO EPD540E, a self-propelled pea harvester, guarantee a satisfying harvesting season between July and October. Or August and December for green beans.
Rice & spinach with special requirements
New details make rice and spinach even more appealing to farmers who do not shy away from crops that require special attention: Rice and long-grain rice count as two crops with individual needs for water management and equipment for planting and harvesting. Both are planted in paddies, fields deepened for water retention. Spinach is not for farmers who like to sleep in: The leafy crop can be harvested twice a season after being sown once - if farmers are quick. They also have to hurry after harvesting because it can't be stored and must be sold immediately before it withers.
More details are yet to come
On the way to release, GIANTS Software still has some features to show off. Announced through previews, the creators recently revealed minor features like a new third-person perspective on foot or grazing animals cutting grass on fields.
Farming Simulator 25 will be released on November 12th for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S. It features more than 400 machines and 150 real-world brands. Pre-orders are available now on selected channels. Visit the official Farming Simulator website and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.
Animals get cuter, more varied and the weather more challenging: Showing off the upcoming agricultural sim at gamescom, publisher and developer GIANTS Software reveals new features for Farming Simulator 25. Attendees visiting the games fair in Cologne can play-test the game from August 21st to 25th in hall 6. GIANTS Software is also present in the business area (hall 4.2).
Weather Shift: Twisters with a Chance of Hail
When virtual farmers see darkening clouds in the sky, it could be a sign of some serious weather on the way. Expecting a light twister or hail to touch down in a few areas, they need to take precautions and secure any unroofed bales. While the skies will clear and the new weather events will pass, they always carry the chance of destroying a portion of fields and forests. Players can deactivate the destruction of crops if they like their yield untouched by the weather.
Cuteness Upgrade for Animal Husbandry
With water buffaloes and goats, new animal types fill the pens, producing new types of milk that can be processed and used in production chains to acquire and distribute fine cheeses. Increasing the cuteness factor and fluffiness of the fur, animals produce offspring. Wobbling on their tiny legs at first, animal farmers watch them grow into productive livestock.
Farming Simulator 25 will be released on PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 12th. It features 25 crops, including new additions like rice and spinach, 400+ authentic vehicles and tools as well as 150 real-world brands. Pre-orders are available now on selected channels. Visit the official Farming Simulator website and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.
Fresh from revealing GIANTS Software as publisher for the new sim racing game Project Motor Racing comes the announcement that Straight4 Studios and GIANTS have now entered a long-term technical partnership. This partnership will see the game engine used on the hit Farming Simulator franchise driving Project Motor Racing straight into its scheduled 2025 release.
A Partnership of Genre Trailblazers
GIANTS Software and Straight4 Studios have been collaborating on integrating the GIANTS engine into Project Motor Racing since 2023. Both studios are already deep into the development phase of tuning the engine for sim racing-specific duty.
The GIANTS Engine was developed from the ground up and saw the light of day in 2008 in the first Farming Simulator. Since then, it has been continuously developed and used in all common platforms, so that today it easily meets the latest technical requirements for PC and console gaming.
Boris Stefan, CSO & Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software said, “When we committed to self-publishing Farming Simulator in 2021, we made no secret that we were on the lookout for external titles that slotted into our vision. In Straight4 Studios, we found the ideal candidate: a studio that, like us, want to create world-class simulation, and a new project from a high-profile studio to enrich our publishing portfolio.”
“Straight4 and GIANTS both share deep simulation roots and high production values,” said Kevin Boland, CDO at Straight4. “Competing in the specialized and technically challenging sim racing arena with Project Motor Racing is a testament to the versatility of the GIANTS Engine. We’re sure both Farming Simulator fans and sim racers will come out as winners from this partnership.”
Ian Bell, CEO at Straight4 Studios, noted: “Developing a new generation of sim racing games requires that we solve some hard questions. Foremost is how to align our state-of-the-art physics engine alongside the graphic fidelity that our fans demand from us. In the GIANTS Engine, we have found the solution: a game engine that allows us to build a beautiful simulator while ensuring framerates do not suffer as a result.”
Project Motor Racing, currently being developed for PC and consoles, will be released in 2025. Visit the newly launched ProjectMotorRacing.com, giants-software.com, Straight4.com, and the GIANTS Software press area for more information.
